Hand-Crafted Spice Blends
What is Jamaican Jerk Spice and how to use it?
Ignite your taste buds! This versatile, pungent blend of island herbs and spices of the Caribbean is guaranteed to keep you jammin’ with just enough habanero chili for that addictive heat. Our hand-crafted Jamaican Jerk Blend can be rubbed directly on fish, steaks, corn-on-the-cob, lamb chops, shrimp, lobster or chicken breasts before grilling. For broiled vegetables, adjust the amount of jerk blend to reach the desired “fire” level.
Done right, jerk chicken is one of the great barbecue traditions of the world. Jerk is a style of cooking native to Jamaica, in which meat is dry-rubbed or wet marinated with a hot spice blend, called Jamaican Jerk. The significant difference between jerk chicken and regular BBQ chicken is the seasoning.
This style of cooking is native to Jamaica and is a national staple; however, it is now commonly used across the world. The flavorings can be applied to beef, pork, goat, and vegetables, although jerk is typically synonymous with chicken. The word "jerk" itself comes from the Spanish word charqui, which means dried strips of meat, i.e. jerky.
Comes in our signature airtight tin, which measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter and 1-3/4 inches in height.
